The Teenangels Code of Conduct and Mission Statement 
Teenangels support the principles of free speech to the fullest extent protected by applicable law. (Note that this is not exporting the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution outside of the borders of the U.S., but instead is a restatement of how each country views freedom of expression and speech.) But, the right of free speech does not exist in a vacuum: it is balanced with other rights. The right to free speech does not give anyone the right to harass, harm or defraud someone, or otherwise traffic in illegal content like child pornography.
Teenangels support the right of all children, throughout the world, regardless of how much money they have, their physical limitations or special needs, their race, language, religion or ethnic background, have access to an educational, valuable, safe and private Internet and those educators have the tools and resources they need to make effective use of this wonderful medium.
Teenangels support the right of each person to enjoy cyberspace without being harassed, preyed upon or attacked.
Teenangels supports the right of parents to make the decision of what is appropriate or not appropriate for their children to view online and to supervise their children’s activities online.
Teenangels support the right of each person to privacy and responsible treatment of their personal information.
Teenangels support the right of children to explore cyberspace without being targets for unethical advertising methods, adult material, pedophiles and sexual predators.
Teenangels is a worldwide program, with members from different countries, societies, cultures and beliefs, where lawful divergent cultures and customs are respected and tolerated. Teenangels practice the golden rule, by treating others as they would want to be treated online and offline.
Teenangels believe in a self regulated Internet. To the extent that self regulation is not successful in stemming serious abuses online, they will do what they can to help educate legislators about the Internet and how such abuses can be responsibly and carefully regulated.
Teenangels believe in enforcing existing laws in cyberspace, and in assisting and supporting law enforcement in enforcing those laws.
Teenangels do not endorse kneejerk legislation of any kind, and will help legislators understand real needs.
Teenangels comply with the laws applicable in cyberspace, with the terms of service of their Internet providers and with the rules of Netiquette.
Teenangels do not go undercover at any time, under any circumstances, to try to lure predators. At no time do we misrepresent ourselves.
Teenangels do not accept child pornography from anyone, at any time, under any circumstances, through any medium.
Teenangels do not view, download, store, or upload child pornography or any other illegal material to or from any computer.
Teenangels must follow our rules and only work on matters under our guidance.
Teenangels will never put personal egos or petty politics before our mission...to help make the Internet safer for everyone.
Teenangels respects other reputable safety advocacy groups and does not disparage other reputable groups.
Only Teenangels who have been authorized by their chapter leader or Parry Aftab may represent Teenangels and speak, in such a capacity, to anyone in an official capacity. This includes the media and governmental agencies.
Teenangels will always respect the privacy of others, the ethics of confidence and will not discuss Teenangels internal operations with third parties.
Teenangels will follow this Code of Conduct even when confronted with anything that offends their personal morals or beliefs.
